Interoperability should be judged route by route
A protocol-level label can also hide differences between individual routes. A bridge may support many networks while exposing different liquidity, contract maturity or operational dependencies for each asset pair. For practical due diligence, the unit of analysis should therefore be the exact route a user intends to take: source chain, destination chain, asset, representation, node set, threshold, fees and recovery behavior if the transfer stalls.
